Physicians want digital tools to work efficiently

Nearly half of physicians responding to the American Medical Association’s digital health survey reported being highly enthusiastic for new digital health innovations. These digital tools, however, must improve workflow and efficiency if they are to be adopted into clinical practice. The survey asked 1,300 physicians about their requirements for digital health tools. Respondents said that digital health tools are most desirable if they help improve work efficiency, improve diagnostic ability, and increase patient safety. They also require digital health tools of the future to be as effective as current methods of patient care; and integrate liability coverage, data privacy, and workflow. Physicians also want reimbursement for the time they spend using the tools.
