Survey: Patients satisfied with physicians but want more time
Although the majority of patients reported being satisfied with their primary care physicians, according to a survey commissioned by the Physician Foundation, many also reported not having enough time with their physicians. The survey, which polled more than 1,700 adults who had two visits with the same physician in the past year, found that 64% of respondents were very satisfied with their primary physician and 31% were somewhat satisfied. When asked about the time spent with their physicians, only 11% said they had all the time they needed. The rest of the respondents said time was somewhat limited (24%), often limited (37%), and always limited (28%).
Physician also reported not having enough time with patients. In a separate survey of physicians conducted in 2016, 14% said they had all the time they needed with patients. The remaining physician said time was somewhat limited (38%), often limited (33%), and always limited (16%).
