What works best?

As an MSP, your daily practice no doubt involves a mix of sophisticated electronic systems and low-tech methods for gathering and reporting information. How are your physicians doing with that? An item in the news this week reports physicians are adopting electronic health records at a markedly faster pace than last year. However, that rate of adoption isn’t fast enough for some, according to an online article on the Atlantic magazine website. If you have time, read the comments at the end of the Atlantic story: Many physicians weighed in arguing that they willingly adopt technology that works, and to suggest they aren’t “tech savvy” ignores the complicated systems that many use in patient care every day, from robotics to telemedicine. At the other end of the spectrum, a low-tech way to improve infection control could be as simple as a wardrobe change. Best practices can take a variety of forms.
