Survey shows growing patient comfort with digital healthcare interactions
Citing reduced wait times and lower costs, a recent Ernst & Young survey of nearly 2,500 consumers found that more than 50% reported being comfortable contacting their physicians digitally and already use available technology to do so.
Survey respondents expressed a desire for more connected experiences with 36% reporting interest in at-home diagnostic testing and 21% open to the idea of video consultations. Thirty-three percent of respondents were open to sharing data through their smartphones.
Furthermore, about one-quarter of respondents would grant physicians access to their lifestyle habits, including their dietary and exercise information. Nearly the same amount of respondents thought sharing this information would boost engagement with physicians through tailored diet and exercise plans.
