Survey: Majority of adult Americans think healthcare is not handled well

According to a recent survey from The Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research, 56% of adults in the U.S. think healthcare in general is handled “not too/not at all well.” In comparison, 32% thought healthcare was “somewhat well” and just 12% thought it was “extremely/very well.”

These findings are based on a survey of more than 1,500 U.S. adults conducted over the summer. Respondents thought the U.S. fared better with providing community support and resources for older adults, with 51% believing it was done well. However, fewer respondents had favorable views on the handling of healthcare for older adults (45%) and the quality of care at nursing homes (37%).

Only 28% of adults thought mental healthcare was handled well. Even fewer (25%) thought prescription medication costs were handled well.
