Maintain professional and ethical standards
At times, administrators or physicians may pressure an MSP to cut corners or overlook certain procedural requirements in order to expedite an application. This can be a tough situation for an MSP to deal with; ethically, however, you should do everything you can to ensure that you are following your policies and procedures.
One of the best ways to avoid this situation is to ensure that your administration and medical staff leadership are fully educated on the regulatory requirements and legal implications of the credentialing process, which play an active role in the development of the organization’s policies and procedures. If however, you find yourself in this situation, you should perform your duties to the best of your abilities and thoroughly document the communication and decision-making that takes place.
